CATL (03750.HK) expected its Spanish battery factory to begin production by the end of next year, supplying batteries to Stellantis' auto plants. CATL said that it will train up to 4,000 workers to operate this largest battery plant in Spain. This EUR4.1 billion investment marks the largest Chinese foreign investment in Spain, with the project also receiving EUR300 million funding support from the EU.
