China's national car market showed a divergent trend in January 2025, with passenger vehicles (PVs) staying strong while commercial vehicles (CVs) remaining weak, said Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Influenced by the implementation of a new round of subsidy policies at the end of January, the previously suppressed car purchase demand was released intensively before the Spring Festival, fueling the PV retail performance beyond expectations in January.
