China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), and the National Energy Administration (NEA) jointly held a seminar on the power and energy storage battery industry to study and deploy further work on regulating the competition order of the industry. Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of the MIIT, underscored during the meeting the need to beef up market scrutiny, enhance price law enforcement inspections, increase consistency in production and product quality supervision inspections, and clamp down on illegal activities related to intellectual property rights. It is necessary to optimize capacity management to avert the risk of overcapacity, he said. Enterprises should be guided to scientifically plan their capacity layout and promote the establishment of a market order characterized by high quality, fair competition, and reasonable pricing.
